Quick Overview

The adidas 75cm gymball offers a fine balance between support and instability for a wide variety of dynamic exercises and is recommended for users 6'2" (188cm - 185cm) or taller.

Overview

A gymball has to offer a fine balance between support and instability, if the ball is too rigid or too soft then the effects on your core stabilising muscles will be compromised. The Adidas gymballs all perform to these optimal levels even if you are simply using the ball to sit on at a desk or performing dynamic exercises.

To be your best

Using the right size ball is important, bigger is not always better, the correct size of ball is based on your height because when lying down this affects the position of your back and pelvis. If you are 196cm (6 feet 4 inches) or more then you need this 75cm ball. If you are going to use the ball for sitting at a desk (which is a fantastic idea) then you can go for a ball one size smaller so that you don't have pressure on the back of your legs when sitting on the ball.

Coach says

Core strength has been a hot topic for a decade now but it's still misunderstood by many people and sadly we often see these balls being used for 'circus style' tricks rather than exercise. So lets clear up what 'Core Strength' really is. The core is a collection of muscles and tissue activated by the brain to stabilise the lower back and pelvis, core strength is a 'reaction' to an external force (gravity or even being pushed by another person). Using a Gym ball amplifies this reaction conditioning the muscles to work better and faster.

Designer notes

.
The Gym ball will perform best if it is correctly inflated, that means you want it to be the right size and firm to touch. When you blow the ball up for the first time only blow it up to 80% of the correct size then leave it overnight to allow the fibres to 'stabilise' then add the remaining 20% the next day. This will make the surface of the ball smooth and most stable.
