Overview
A gymball has to offer a fine balance between support and instability, if the ball is too rigid or too soft then the effects on your core stabilising muscles will be compromised. The adidas gymballs all perform to these optimal levels even if you are simply using the ball to sit on at a desk or performing dynamic exercises.
To be your best
Using the right size ball is important, some people seem to think bigger is better but actually the correct size of ball is based on your height because when lying down this affects the position of your back and pelvis. If you are 176 195cm (5 feet 8 inches to 6 feet 3 inches tall) then you need this 65cm gymball.
Coach says
All adidas gymballs are anti- burst, now that does not mean you can stab it or kick it around. No, what it actually means is if you were unfortunate to get a puncture in the ball whilst you were using it instead of going 'pop' like a ballon it deflates slowly to avoid the risk of injury. There are 101+ moves you can do on a Gym ball so the easiest way of getting started is to do all the moves you already know on the floor or on a bench but do them on the ball curls, presses, back extension to name just a few.
Designer notes
The materials that we use to make our gymballs are a very high quality and will give you the best performance if you follow this advice. When you blow the ball up for the first time only blow it up to 80% of the correct size then leave it overnight to allow the fibres to 'stabilise' then add the remaining 20% the next day. This will make the surface of the ball smooth and most stable.
